Another Province Announces Its Winter Break Schedule

Published on:

The Balochistan government has shared the schedule for winter holidays in schools located in the colder areas of the province. Schools in these regions will close for about two and a half months due to severe winter conditions. The break will start on December 16, 2025, and classes will resume when the weather becomes warmer.

This long holiday is a yearly tradition because extreme cold, heavy snowfall, and icy winds make it difficult and unsafe for students to attend school regularly.

Exams in Chaman

In Chaman, annual exams for junior classes (1 to 7) began on November 16 and will continue until November 24, 2025. These exams help teachers check how much students have learned during the year.

For class 8 students, exams will be conducted by the Balochistan Board starting November 24. Schools have been instructed to ensure that all papers are completed before the winter vacation begins.

Punjab Winter Holiday Dates

Punjab has also announced its winter break. Schools in the province, both government and private, will be closed from December 23, 2025, to January 11, 2026. Students and teachers will return to class on January 12, 2026.

The Punjab Education Department has advised school management to finish all exams, homework, and class activities before the holiday starts. This ensures students can enjoy their break without worrying about unfinished tasks.

Why Winter Holidays Are Needed

Winter breaks are important for student safety and comfort:

  • In Balochistan, mountainous regions experience very low temperatures, heavy snowfall, and icy winds. Long travel in such weather can be dangerous for children.
  • The break protects students from harsh weather and gives teachers time to prepare for the next term.
  • In Punjab, while the weather is milder, it still gets cold. A short winter break allows students to rest, spend time with family, and recharge for upcoming exams.

Guidelines from Education Departments

Both Balochistan and Punjab governments have instructed school authorities to:

  • Complete all teaching, assignments, and exams before the holidays
  • Help students finish important topics and revise lessons
  • Advise parents to keep children safe during the break

These steps ensure that learning continues smoothly when schools reopen and that students can enjoy their holidays without stress.

Conclusion

Winter holidays in Balochistan and Punjab give students a well-deserved break from school. In colder regions, long vacations are necessary for safety, while in milder areas, short breaks help students relax and prepare for the next term. Parents, teachers, and students all benefit from careful planning and timely exams before the holidays start.
