Another Province Reveals Winter Vacation Dates

Published on:

The Balochistan government has released the winter holiday schedule for schools in the colder regions of the province. As per the official notice, schools in extremely cold areas will stay closed for about two and a half months. The winter break will begin on December 16, 2025, and classes will resume once the weather becomes warmer. This long break happens every year because the severe cold makes it hard for students to attend school regularly.

Current Exams in Chaman

In Chaman, annual exams for junior classes have already started. The Education Department shared that tests for classes 1 to 7 began on November 16 and will continue until November 24. These exams help teachers understand how much students have learned throughout the year.

For class 8, exams will be conducted by the Balochistan Board. These board exams will begin on November 24. Schools have been instructed to ensure that all students complete their papers on time before the winter vacation starts.

Punjab Announces Its Winter Holidays Too

Punjab has also declared its winter holidays. All schools in Punjab will remain closed from December 23, 2025, to January 11, 2026. This schedule applies to both government and private schools. Students and teachers will return on January 12 to continue their regular classes.

Punjab’s Education Department has also advised school management to finish all exams, homework, and class activities before the holidays so students can enjoy their break peacefully.

Why Winter Vacations Are Important

Winter holidays are necessary in places like Balochistan because temperatures become extremely low in mountainous areas. Heavy snowfall and freezing winds make traveling unsafe for children. The long break protects students from harsh weather and gives teachers time to prepare for the next term.

In Punjab, the weather is not as harsh, but it still gets cold enough to need a short break. These holidays give students a chance to rest, spend time with family, and get ready for upcoming exams.

Instructions from the Education Departments

Both Balochistan and Punjab have told school authorities to complete all teaching and exam work before the holidays. This helps avoid delays when schools reopen. Parents are also advised to keep their children safe during the break and help them revise important subjects.
