The Punjab School Education Department has officially issued a notification announcing the new winter school timings for all public and private schools across the province.
According to the notice, the revised timings will take effect from Monday, 27 October 2025, and will remain in place until 15 April 2026.
Timings for Single-Shift Schools
For single-shift schools, classes will begin at 8:45 AM and end at 1:30 PM from Monday to Thursday.
On Fridays, schools will close earlier, with classes running from 8:45 AM to 12:30 PM to allow students and staff to prepare for Jummah prayers.
Timings for Double-Shift Schools
In double-shift schools, the morning shift will follow the same schedule as single-shift schools —
8:45 AM to 1:30 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 8:45 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday.
The afternoon or second shift will start at 1:00 PM and end at 4:00 PM from Monday to Thursday.
On Fridays, the second shift will begin later than usual, operating from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Purpose of the Change
The new schedule has been introduced to adjust to shorter winter days and ensure a cushty studying environment for college students at some point of the colder months. The department has directed all college administrations to strictly observe the revised timings.
Parents are also counseled to be aware of the new timetable to avoid any inconvenience for his or her children.
Implementation Period
The wintry weather faculty timings will continue to be powerful till 15 April 2026, and then summer season timings will likely be announced with the aid of the Punjab authorities.
